La Pioneer 10 viajando más allá del Sistema Solar. Esta sonda fue la primera en cruzar el cinturón de asteroides en para luego sobrevolar Júpiter en 1973 y convertirse también en el primer objeto humano en alcanzar la velocidad de escape del Sistema Solar. El último contacto con la sonda tuvo lugar el 23 de enero de 2003, cuando la sonda estaba a 12.000 millones de km del Sol (80 Unidades Astronómicas). No volvió a recibirse ninguna señal de la nave. The Pioneer 10 traveling beyond the solar system. This probe was the first to cross the asteroid belt and then fly over Jupiter in 1973 and become the first human object to reach the escape velocity of the solar system. The last contact with the probe was held on January 23, 2003, when the probe was at 12,000 million km from the Sun (80 astronomical units).
